Three men are lucky to be alive after their float plane crashed into a lake in south western Manitoba.
It happened Thursday afternoon, south east of Swan River.
RCMP say the small Lake Buccaneer floatplane lost power after take off, struck a beaver dam and then flipped over Wellman Lake, approximately 55 kilometres from Swan River.
The 61 year old pilot from Swan River, and two men, one from Whitehorse, another from Dauphin, managed to escape and were rescued by boat.
They were treated and released from the Swan Valley Health Centre.
An investigation is now underway by the Transportation Safety Board, Manitoba Conservation and Swan River RCMP
