MONTREAL – Nine people have died in accidents during Quebec’s long weekend, marking St-Jean-Baptiste day.
Seven of the accidents took place on the province’s roads, while one person died in a helicopter crash and another on an ATV.
The most recent accident took place early this morning on a highway on Montreal’s West Island.
Police say alcohol may have contributed to the crash that killed a 21-year-old man.
During the holiday weekend last year, five people died in accidents on Quebec provincial roads.
