Officials say many of the birds stay in the valley year-round and are descendants of geese that were introduced to the Valley in the 1960’s and 70’s in an effort to create an Okanagan goose population.
In an effort to manage the population, officials launched an egg addling program and say the program is proving to be a success with approximately 6,000 fewer geese in the Okanagan Valley.
This season’s program wraps up in May.
