HALIFAX – Police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man who was found dead in his jail cell in Dartmouth.
Const. Pierre Bourdages says Halifax Regional Police were called at around 9 a.m. Monday with a report that a man died at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility.
Bourdages had few details, but said the medical examiner’s office was on the scene and trying to determine the cause of death.
A spokesman for the Justice Department says more information would be made available once the man’s next of kin have been notified.
