Arsonist caught on tape lighting a fire near Metrotown bus loop in Burnaby – video

BURNABY – A man was caught on video setting fire to a loading bay door near the Metrotown bus loop in Burnaby a few weeks ago.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 21, at about 10:45 p.m. What can also be seen on the video is many witnesses standing around taking pictures of the fire with their phones.

Members from the Burnaby RCMP Economic Crime Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the arsonist, and as the suspect remained at the scene, police are hoping he may have been captured on a witness’s cell phone.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Grace Hwang at 604-294-7670.
