The man’s vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head on.
Three people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and one person was airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses say several people had to be cut out of one of the vehicles.
Mounties say alcohol and drugs are not factors in the crash.
The bridge was closed for several hours as investigators probed the crash.
