Regina celebrates 10 year anniversary of ‘The Big Dig’

REGINA – It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the Wascana Lake deepening project came to an end.

For months, dozens of big trucks and earth movers were lined up over the lake bed to try and control weed growth and improve water quality.

The $18 million project got underway in 2004 and saw the lake go from an average depth of 1.4 meters to 5.5 meters.
