MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Six young men have been charged with trespassing after a late-night hangout session the roof of a Mississauga school went from fun to dangerous.

Curtis Blacquiere, 20, suffered two broken ankles after falling into the chimney at Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School, where he became stuck.

Peel Regional Police received a call shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday morning, and firefighters were dispatched to the school, where they began an extraction process that would take more than an hour.

“It was dark where the chimney was, I think he thought the roof continued on, but it didn’t and he fell through,” said Const. Thomas Ruttan.

Firefighters had to widen the chimney opening to get the man out. Mr. Blacquiere was extricated at about 3:30 a.m. and transported to hospital.

“It was quite a large chimney,” Const. Ruttan said. “I hope the cost of repairing it goes back to the kids.”

Kyle Blacquiere, 22, Phillip Rodriguez, 21, James Demelo, 22, Brendan Turk, 21, Kyle McGuigan, 22, were also charged with trespassing.
