The latest section of Kelowna’s rapidly growing system of multi-use pathways officially opened Friday.
A section of Houghton Road in Rutland now gives cyclists, skateboarders and pedestrians safe passage.
The multi-use pathways are scattered across the city and cost more than $14 million last year to install.
The city, province and federal government are sharing the costs.
Kelowna City Council says its long term goal is to establish an extensive network of multi-use paths that will reach almost every part of the city.
Kelowna has about 261 km of bike lanes and multi-use pathways in use.
