GRAND MANAN, N.B. – New Brunswick’s Grand Manan ferry is safely docked after running aground earlier today off Blacks Harbour.
Transportation Department spokeswoman Sarah Ketcheson says none of the 100 people onboard was injured.
The passengers were taken to shore in life-rafts and vehicles were offloaded once the vessel was docked.
The grounding occurred at about 9 a.m. near the wharf in Blacks Harbour, on the province’s mainland.
The boat was freed as the tide rose.
Ketcheson says divers will be used to assess any damage to the ferry.
