Despite polls – CAQ leader sticks to message

WATCH: Francois Legault responds to questions at a press conference Saturday

MONTREAL – Coalition Avenir Québec leader Francois Legault was in St-Henri Saturday, touting his party’s economic plan.

Legault said that if his party is allowed to form the government it would implement an aggressive set of economic reforms including freezing the number of government jobs excluding health and education and reducing budget deficits and the debt load.

He believes the approach is aimed at improving the lives of Quebec families, but during reporters’ questions the discussion quickly turned to a recent Leger poll indicating this election is increasingly becoming a polarized race between the PQ and the Liberals.

” I won’t change my message, because I think it’s about time, after 40 years, that we talk about something else other than a referendum,” the CAQ leader responded.
