Plane lands safely at Pearson Airport due to ‘electrical smell’

TORONTO – A passenger jet landed safely at Pearson International Airport this morning after a flight attendant noticed an electrical smell.

Ed Martelle of American Eagle Airlines says the attendant noticed the smell shortly after Flight 4349 left Montreal for Chicago.

The attendant alerted the pilots and the plane headed for Toronto.

None of the 52 passengers and crew were injured.

Martelle says the source of the smell has not been determined.

If the plane cannot continue, arrangements will be made to get the passengers to Chicago.
