Flying debris a problem at construction site in downtown Calgary

<p>CALGARY – Flying debris is again causing problems at a downtown Calgary construction site.</p> <p>The fire crew’s High Angle Rescue Team was called to a highrise under construction on Tuesday after a large section of temporary decking partially collapsed.</p> <p>A section fell to the ground, but no one was hurt.</p> <p>Pedestrian and vehicle traffic was detoured while fire crews secured the site.</p> <p>Calgary has had a number of instances where debris has fallen from buildings under construction.</p> <p>The most serious incident claimed the life of a three-year-old girl in 2009 when some metal sheeting dropped on her from a building near the Calgary Tower.</p> <p>(CHQR)</p>
