N.L. cabbie helps pull sleeping couple and their dogs from burning home

<p>DUNVILLE, N.L. – A couple in Dunville, N.L., and their dogs have a passing taxi driver to thank for their safety after their house caught fire.</p> <p>RCMP say the cabbie was driving by early Saturday when he saw flames coming from the basement of the couple’s residence.</p> <p>The driver called the fire department and then ran into the house to wake the owners.</p> <p>A woman was unharmed but a man was taken to hospital for examination and later released.</p> <p>Police say after the driver helped get the couple out of the smoke-filled building he returned to get their dogs out as well.</p> <p>An investigation has determined the fire, which destroyed the house, was caused by faulty electrical wiring.</p>
