Halifax-area RCMP say charges pending after man assaulted and stabbed

<p>HALIFAX – Halifax-area RCMP say charges are pending following an incident in which a man was stabbed.</p> <p>Police say an officer was investigating a motor vehicle accident around 2:48 a.m. today near a home on Panavista Drive in Cole Harbour when he was approached by a man.</p> <p>The 46-year-old told the officer he had been assaulted.</p> <p>Police say the officer noticed the man appeared to be suffering from a stab wound.</p> <p>The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for a chest wound and later released.</p> <p>Police spokesman Cpl. Scott MacRae says investigators believe the stabbing was not a random act and several arrests have been made, although it’s yet to be determined how many people will be charged.</p>
