SASKATOON – Two individuals in Saskatchewan have been fined for labour safety violations.
Brennan Gerald Franklin Hoda from Saskatoon pled guilty in provincial court on Feb. 26 for failing to ensure workers were using a fall protection system where they could fall more than three metres.
Hoda was charged after a working stapling felt on a roof at a worksite on July 25, 2012 walked off the edge of a roof while walking backwards.
Hoda was fined $1,400. Five other charges against him were stayed.
In a separated incident, Bradley Carson of Tisdale pleaded guilty to two labour safety violations.
Carson was charged after two inspections found he was working without fall protection equipment at a residential construction site.
Two other charges were withdrawn.
Carson was fined $1,680 in court for the violations.
