On Tuesday, Hogan was found guilty of violating the Alberta Animal Protection Act, which outlines minimum requirements to keep animals from being in distress.

Along with a $5,000 fine, he also faces a three animal limit for the rest of his life.

“The duty of care is no different for one pet dog than it is for dozens of breeding stock,” explains Brad Nichols, Manager, Cruelty Investigations. “It is important for breeders to take note and provide adequate care to all of their animals.”
