A representative from Plains Midstream Canada, the Canadian arm of Plains All American Pipeline, spoke publicly Thursday for the first time since a pipeline break spilled nearly 30,000 barrels of oil in northern Alberta.
Mike Hallahan, vice-president of Plains Midstream Canada, issued a statement in Calgary Thursday morning, but declined to take questions.
"Members of management, who are currently on site and who are most familiar with all the current details, will be available for a news conference with ‘q and a,’ on Friday," Hallahan said.
Hallahan confirmed that efforts are in place to monitor air quality in areas surrounding the site and that a plan is in place to limit the impact of the spill on wildlife.
