UPDATE: The skier, who went missing near Hope, has been found safe and sound.
Search and rescue crews are looking for a missing skier near Hope.
The man in his thirties has been missing since Saturday afternoon when he became separated from his group at Zoa Peak in the Falls Lake area.
Search crews from Chilliwack, Hope and Harrison were called in to help, but their efforts were called off due to darkness.
The crews are now waiting for daylight to resume the search. They are planning to go out on sleds and skies. A helicopter is not available to aid in the search due to inclement weather.
Avalanche technicians will assess the situation and determine how safe it is to continue the search effort.
It is believed the man had extra clothes, food and water, but he does not have a cell phone, and the crews have not been in direct contact with him.
