Police have released surveillance images of two bank robbers wearing nun masks and black robes during a heist at a Chicago bank on Sunday.
The thieves made off with a bagful of cash in the dramatic heist reminiscent of the 2010 Hollywood movie The Town.
The robbery happened around 2 p.m. on May 29, minutes before the TCF Bank in Palos Heights, Illinois was to close for the day.
Police say two bank employees, the only staff present at the time, were forced into a vault where they were ordered to stuff a duffel bag with cash.
No security guard or customers were present during the robbery, which lasted less than three minutes.
Security cameras captured images of the two suspects, who fled the scene in silver four-door Chevrolet with tinted windows.
Police say the first suspect is a black man, about 5’7 wearing black and white gym shoes, black gloves and armed with a revolver.
The second suspect is a black woman, about 5’5, wearing black boots, white gloves and armed with a semi-automatic pistol.
Police did not say how much money the thieves made off with.
The Palos Heights Police Department and the Chicago office of the FBI are investigating.
