Man charged after vehicle burned on U of T campus

Police in Toronto say they’ve arrested a man accused of setting a vehicle on fire at a downtown university campus.

Just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, police said they were called to the University of Toronto’s historic St. George Campus for a fire. They said officers found that a vehicle had been set ablaze by an unknown male suspect.

The vehicle sustained significant damage, but nobody was injured.

After an appeal for information, police arrested a 27-year-old Toronto man. He was charged with arson with disregard for human life, two counts of failure to comply with a probation order and mischief over $5,000.
