A massive fire reduced a large house outside Bragg Creek to rubble Saturday night.
Emergency crews were called around 7 p.m. to a fire at a home in the rural subdivision of Highlands, about seven kilometers southwest of the hamlet.
By the time they arrived, the three-storey home was already engulfed in flames.

The homeowners weren’t living in the house; the tenant who was renting it was not home at the time.
The chief of the Redwood Meadows Fire Department said water supply is always an issue in rural areas.
“Because of that we asked for more help right away,” said Rob Evans. “On scene we have three 3,000 gallon tankers and one 1,800 gallon tanker … we have to bring all our water to fight the fire.”
The house was reportedly for sale, and close to being sold.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.
