Ground breaking ceremony for new River Landing office building in Saskatoon

The next phase in Saskatoon’s River Landing project kicked off Friday morning with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new office building.

Representatives from Tonko Reality Advisors Ltd., ICR Commercial Real Estate, the City of Saskatoon and other stakeholders were on hand as construction on the new River Centre development officially got underway.

The building is going up at the corner of 2nd Ave. S and 19th St. E., next to the Remai Art Centre. When completed, the building will have over 77,000 square feet of rentable office and retail space, along with a fitness centre and a bistro.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be breaking ground on what’s going to be a really fantastic facility for the people of Saskatoon,” said Rob Proud of Tonko Reality Advisors Ltd.

The development will be built using greener building materials and is designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold designation.

River Centre is expected to be completed by late 2012.
