CALGARY – Police are searching for a number of items stolen from a local senior on Tuesday.
Between 10:30a.m. and noon, offenders broke in to a home in the 0-100 block of Cranleigh Way southeast. Police believe the suspects gained entry to the home through the attached garage.
Once inside, dozens of items were taken including jewellery, electronics and alcohol. A number of items that have extreme sentimental value to the resident were also stolen.
The owner of the home, a recent widower, is asking for the thieves to at least return a few special items to him, including three paintings made by his late wife; one of a woman’s silhouette, another of a tree and the third is abstract. He is also asking for the return of two large house plants in dark-brown ceramic pots.
While none of the items carry a large monetary value, the man says they are personally very valuable to him.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these items is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
