Vancouver police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that nearly ran down several pedestrians on a downtown sidewalk last week, according to surveillance video of the incident.
Police say a red Chevrolet Camaro convertible with a black top was driving erratically north on Hornby Street at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
According to surveillance video, the car mounted a curb and travelled west down a sidewalk, causing several pedestrians to run to safety.

The video then shows a man approaching the driver’s side door of the vehicle and trying to open it.
The car then drives away westbound on Dunsmuir Street.
Police are now hoping to speak to the man who approached the car or any other witness who may have information to help identify the driver.
While police are not saying whether distracted driving was the cause of this incident, they are reminding drivers that they will be stepping up enforcement to catch drivers who are on their phones.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Vancouver Police Traffic Support Section at 604-717-9974.
