HALIFAX – Home support workers with the Victorian Order of Nurses across Nova Scotia have rejected their employer’s latest offer after conciliated talks broke down earlier this week.

Union president Joan Jessome says the workers want parity with their counterparts in hospital settings.

The union says a 14-day countdown to a strike will start Tuesday after the conciliator files a report.

The Victorian Order of Nurses, commonly known as VON, is a national non-profit home and community care organization.
