PEACHLAND – Fire has destroyed a Peachland home but the occupants are okay.
The single detached home at 5857 Vicary Road (off Columbia Avenue) was fully involved when Peachland fire fighters arrived shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say the fire appears to have started in the attached garage and spread through the entire structure.
The only occupant home at the time managed to get out safely along with her two dogs.
A vehicle in the residence’s laneway was also destroyed by the fire, however, crews did manage to salvage a motorhome.
The cause of the fire is not considered suspicious.
Officials say the structure is a write-off and that the occupants are insured.
