Video: Fundraising campaign underway for Kelowna freestyle motocross rider

Kelowna resident Bruce Cook, 26, suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury while performing a record-breaking trick on January 3, 2014.

After he received surgery for his injury, Cook took to social media with the hashtag phrase #smileforBC to get people to send him their smiles.

His friends and family also launched a fundraising campaign to help with medical expenses, adaptations to his home, treatments and other programs.

Cook was not covered by disability insurance due to the nature of motocross.
