LETHBRIDGE: A north side family were victims of a terrifying home invasion after two men broke through the back door of their home along Beaver Pond Court in the Uplands just before 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Sergeant Tony Yee of the Lethbridge Regional Police said the men gained entry to the home through the back door. “The two suspects forced their way into the house while there was four occupants inside.”
Police are continuing to search for the men who made off with an undisclosed amount of property. Both men are approximately 5’10” tall and were wearing black hoodies and black pants. They both had ski masks over their face during the invasion.

Global News spoke to the owner of the home who did not want to appear on camera. The woman stated her sixty-seven-year-old mother was sprayed with bear mace along with her daughter and a family friend. The woman also said her ten-month-old grandson were in the house but were not harmed.
Sgt. Yee wouldn’t confirm if bear mace was used in the invasion, but did say no one was seriously hurt. “Someone was taken to hospital for observation,” he added.
Directly next door to the home that was broken into is a day home.
Nicole Ehlert drops her son off at the day home on a regular basis, and says she has never noticed anything out of the ordinary before. “It’s kind of startling actually because I come here Monday through Friday and there is nobody ever around and it’s really quiet so this is surprising,” she added.
Police believe there is no risk to the general public, and the invasion is a targeted incident. So far investigators do not know if the two suspects are known to the victims.
