Van and train collide in Winnipeg rail yard

WINNIPEG – Two people were taken to hospital this morning after a collision between CN train and one of the railway’s vehicles Sunday morning.

It happened just after 7:00 a.m. inside the Symington Yard in Transcona.

A CN spokesperson told Global News the train hit a van carrying seven employees.

A white van could be seen with its front end crumpled into the side of a railway car.

The driver of the van and a passenger were taken to hospital with none life-threatening injuries.

It’s not known just how much damaged was caused to the train.

CN is investigating the crash.
