RCMP ask Canadian kids to name new pups

CALGARY – RCMP are looking for some help naming their newest (and cutest) recruits.

They’re asking children from all across Canada to submit names for 10 German Shepherd puppies recently born at the Police Dog Service Training Centre in Innisfail, Ab.

Kids are encouraged to be original and imaginative in finding names, but remember the names are for working dogs, not pets.

Each submission must start with the letter ‘G’ and have no more than nine letters.

Names can be for males or females, but can only be one or two syllables.

The 10 children whose names are selected will each receive a laminated 8×10-inch photo of the pup they name, a plush dog named Justice and an RCMP cap.
