REGINA – Premier Brad Wall says an elite membership in his Saskatchewan Party does not bring special access to politicians.
Wall says the $1,000 annual membership is for those who want to donate, talk politics, get inside polling information or receive luncheon invitations.
But the premier says people are wrong if they thought the elite membership meant they could lobby politicians.
Questions are being raised after the CEO of two colleges bought the membership and expensed the cost – a move Wall calls inappropriate.
The CEO, Glen Kobussen, was fired last week over concerns about governance at the schools.
Advanced Education Minister Rob Norris says Kobussen was often at the same functions as the minister, but they didn’t talk shop.
