CALGARY- Mayor Naheed Nenshi will be travelling to London next month as part of an international leaders program.
He was invited by the British government and will meet with other world leaders during his visit.
The British government is covering the entire cost of the trip.

Nenshi says the trip will benefit not only him, but Calgary, because it will strengthen the relationship between our city and the U.K.
“We have only one consulate from Europe in Calgary. In fact, we lost our other European consulate last year and I think it’s important to have to these consulates in place. I hope to strengthen that relationship while I’m there.”
Nenshi will be in London from February 3rd to the 7th.
He had considered going to the Olympics in Sochi after his London visit, but turned down the invitation he had received from the Canadian Olympic Committee.
The mayor says he is not able to fit the Sochi games into his schedule.
