At the time of the assault, guards were on a wildcat strike.

In court Monday, 25-year-old Chase Neault apologized for his actions, saying he ‘feels ashamed’ and is a ‘better person than that’.

Neault was sentenced to 18 months in prison, less nine months for time already served.

A second man charged in the assault is due in court later this week.
