A man was killed Saturday in the South Okanagan after a collision between a scooter and a car.
The deadly crash happened at approximately 1:15 pm at the intersection of Black Sage Road and Pineridge Road in Oliver.
RCMP say the vehicle attempted to pass the scooter at a slow speed as it pulled to the right curb.
Police say the scooter suddenly veered in front of the car, sending the driver to the ground.
Despite wearing a helmet, the man suffered a fatal head injury.
RCMP say the Oliver man was a member of the Osoyoos Indian Band.
Early indications say he may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Police say witnesses had seen the scooter being driven erratically just before the crash.
RCMP continue to investigate but say the driver of the car will not face any charges.
