TORONTO – Durham police have halted their search for a missing Whitby father at a waterfront pier on Friday due to “high winds and unsafe ground conditions.”
Jeffrey Boucher disappeared on the morning of Monday Jan. 13 after it’s believed he headed out for one of his routine jogs.
Police said a team of officers from the marine unit were using an underwater camera device to search the area near Water Street in Whitby.

Last week, investigators said they were “stumped” as to the whereabouts of the 52-year-old Bowmanville High School teacher and have very few leads to go on.
At the time, police have said there’s no evidence to suggest foul play or that he may have even fallen during his morning run.
Investigators have already exhausted their search efforts in and around Boucher’s home and his frequent running spots.
