Armed standoff near Glen Margaret, N.S. ends peacefully

HALIFAX – A standoff in the Halifax-area between an armed man and police has ended peacefully.

Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police were called to a home on Peggy’s Cove Road near Glen Margaret, said Staff Sgt. Scott Warnica of the Halifax-area RCMP. A man inside was reportedly making threats with his guns.

Police surrounded the home and a man in his 50s surrendered within an hour. His guns were seized, but he was not charged. The investigation into the case continues.
