Crews continue to clean-up after a sewer line break in the North Okanagan.
At approximately 2:30 pm on Wednesday, a sewer line was reported broken in the area of Marshalls Fields and Cummings Road in Vernon
Crews capped the leak within half an hour but not before approximately 4,000 gallons of sewage spilled into a large ditch next to Vernon Creek.
A small amount of the spill escaped over the dam and into the creek.
The city is advising residents there is no threat to public or private drinking water in the area and there is no disruption to toilets.
They are, however, asking residents to stay out of the area while they work on clean-up.
The sewer line has been repaired and is once again operational.
Officials are not yet sure what caused the break in the first place.
