Vernon rave shuts down early

VERNON — Vernon RCMP aren’t raving about an event at the rec centre Saturday night.

A rave is what it was, with bus loads of young adults from the Lower Mainland, up to 800 of them.

Police had to work with the organizers to shut it down an hour early, at midnight, after dealing with many highly intoxicated people, some thought to be drugged up.

Two ended up in hospital but no arrests were made and the crowds were loaded back on their busses for the trip back to Kelowna hotels where they were booked.
