A record amount of funding for Saskatchewan livestock and forage research was announced Friday in Saskatoon.
Provincial agriculture minister Bob Bjornerud announced $7 million to go towards 27 such research projects from the Saskatchewan Agriculture Development Fund.
"Livestock and forage producers are vital to the success of our agriculture industry in Saskatchewan," Bjornerud stated.
"This research funding will help to further develop and advance the industry and will result in long-term benefits for producers at the farm gate."
The dollars will be focused on feed and vaccine research for cattle, pigs and chickens.
