TORONTO — Actress Alyssa Milano admitted this week that although she accepted his apology, she was hurt by comedian Jay Mohr’s comments about her figure.

“I was affected by it,” she told Extra. “I just think he was trying to make a joke and didn’t think about it.”

After seeing her at a NASCAR awards ceremony in Las Vegas on Dec. 6, Mohr took shots a Milano during a radio interview.

“It seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don’t really give a s**t’…I read it on her gut,” he said.

Mohr added Milano “was very nice but didn’t look so great.”

The 41-year-old actress, who had son Milo in 2011, responded with a Christmas Day message to Mohr on Twitter.

“So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless,” she wrote. “Please send my love to your beautiful wife.” (Mohr is married to actress Nikki Cox.)

Other female stars were quick to come to Milano’s defence, including actress Olivia Munn, who tweeted that Mohr “looks like a foot.”

Rose McGowan, who co-starred with Milano in Charmed, tweeted: “Do I need to kick someone’s a**?”

On Jan. 3, Mohr tweeted “I’m sorry” and linked to a more thorough apology on his website.

“I had thought (incorrectly) in an improvisational moment, that the incongruousness of my statements, when held up to the light of how beautiful Alyssa Milano is, would have been funny given that she is the size of a thimble. It wasn’t funny,” the message read. “I will not make excuses for what I said … I know full well how much words can hurt people, having seen my wife get destroyed by the tabloids, and I am embarrassed that I didn’t think before I spoke.

“Sometimes comedians go too far. I went too far. I cannot change what I said, but I can assure you that my heart is broken that I hurt her. I am very sorry.”

Milano responded on Twitter with a sense of humour. “Thank you. Apology accepted,” she wrote. “(She grunts while aggressively yet cautiously prying off her head-to-toe Spanx).”

Milano told Extra she gained 55 pounds when she was pregnant and feels like she needs to lose another 10.

“Unfortunately, everyone is fair game and it’s not fair,” the 41-year-old star said.
