Missing boy found safe and sound

Police have found a nine-year-old boy who was reported missing early Friday when he did not arrive for class.

Police were alerted by the principal of Emily Carr Junior School at noon today that Rick Ramicharitar was missing. The school is located near Sheppard and Morningside Avenue, and is a two-minute walk from the boy’s home. He was believed to have left for school alone at 8:30 a.m.

He was found by a TTC supervisor at Kennedy subway station two hours later.

An officer of the 42 division of the Toronto police, said that TTC employee identified the boy through a description handed out by the police and media.

The officer “had no clue” how he got to Kennedy station, which is about 13 kilometers away from Ramcharitar’s school.
