Saskatchewan snowboarder McMorris named to Olympic team

SASKATOON – Regina snowboarding superstar Mark McMorris has been named to Canada’s Olympic snowboarding team.

The team’s first five members were named Friday during an announcement in Vancouver.

McMorris, along with British Columbia’s Spencer O’Brien and Sebastien Toutant of Quebec, will participate in the slopestyle event, which is included in the Olympics for the first time.

Three-time Olympian Maelle Ricker of West Vancouver will lead Canada’s snowboard team at the Sochi Games, which start in February.
