The London Police Service confirmed a cyclist has died of their injuries following a crash Wednesday morning on Hamilton Road.
Police say the cyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where they were later pronounced dead. The deceased has been identified as Rafal Szabat, 54, of London.
The vehicle involved in the crash, which occurred around 5:10 a.m., remained at the scene.
Hamilton Road was closed for the two block stretch between Rectory and Redan streets but reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing, police added, urging anyone “who was in the area of Hamilton Road and Rectory Street between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., who may have dash-cam, residential or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation, to contact” them.
