KELOWNA — At first police believed he was attempting to flee the country, but a Kelowna man wanted by RCMP has been located in the Okanagan.

Police issued a Canada wide warrant for 36-year-old Neil Elliott Collins earlier this month because he couldn’t be located.

They suspected that Collins may have tampered with his electronic monitoring device and that he was trying to leave Canada.

RCMP also believed that Collins was armed and were warning the public not to approach him.

Police say Collins was arrested without incident near his residence on December 26 by West Kelowna RCMP.

Collins was taken to hospital after his arrest where he was treated for personal health reasons.

He’s facing gun and drug charges.
