The City of Vancouver is urging residents to dispose of their Christmas tree in an environmentally-friendly way.
The city has set up three ways to recycle live, cut trees, including tree chipping events, curbside pick-up or free drop-off at landfills.
From January 4 to 5, city staff and Lions Club volunteers will be set up at the following locations between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

For a cash or non-perishable food donation, your tree will be chipped and taken to the Vancouver Landfill to be composted.
Another option is to set your tree out with food scraps and waste if you live in an area where the city already collects it.
Crews will collect trees until January 31. Trees must be placed on their side one metre away from your garbage or green bins and not be in a bag or tied with a rope.
You can also drop off your tree at the Vancouver Landfill or the Vancouver South Transfer Station free of charge until the end of January.
All tinsel and decorations must be removed from trees before recycling.
