Drivers making their way home on holiday Monday on the Sky-to-Sky Highway faced some long delays.

A crash blocked the highway in both directions about 24 kilometres north of Squamish, according to Drive BC.

The crash was cleared around 5:30 p.m. but major congestion remains in the area due to the delay.

It is not known how many vehicles were involved but the collision happened around Cheakamus Canyon.

There were reports an air ambulance was dispatched to the scene.
