Edmonton woman dies in Northern Alberta crash

Edmonton – A 75-year-old Edmonton woman died Monday afternoon from injuries she suffered during a collision in Northern Alberta.

The crash happened 16 kilometres north of Valleyview, which is 350 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.

The victim – who was driving a passenger vehicle – died at the scene. A 20 year old female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of a minivan involved in the collision was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. RCMP say passengers of the minivan were also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The driver of a pick up truck involved in the crash was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The collision is under investigation, but RCMP say alcohol is not considered to be a factor.

Police say weather and road conditions were poor at the time of the collision.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
