Man dead after stabbing at Brampton apartment building: police

Peel Regional Police say a man has died after a stabbing in Brampton, Ont., on Wednesday morning.

Police said the stabbing happened at around 8:30 a.m. in the Baycliffe Crescent and Crossbill Road area, near Creditview Road and Bovaird Drive.

Const. Nikhil Chakravarthy said the victim was found close to a unit on the second floor of an apartment building.

“However, the exact location of where this interaction occurred, whether it occurred in one location or whether it was ongoing through multiple areas of the apartment building, that’s still part of the investigation,” Chakravarthy said.

A man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, police said. A short time later, the man died from his injuries.

Police said they are looking for one suspect.

Chakravarthy said the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
