CALGARY- Conservation officers in Banff National Park had to come to the rescue of a bull elk  that was found sporting Christmas lights and ornaments on his antlers.

That’s prompting a warning to people living in Banff Park to safely secure their outdoor Christmas decorations.

The elk wasn’t hurt, but conservation officers say in worse-case scenarios, an animal can be seriously hurt or even die.

And even if they aren’t physically harmed, officers say the situation can cause an animal a lot of stress.
